Every AP&A office has a dedicated Technical Department with qualified marine engineers and naval architects. In addition we use associate design offices as specific projects require and the additional resource of Polish Register of Shipping.
Conversions
Our design and engineering capabilities include but are not limited to the following conversions :
- Cargo vessels to reefer vessels
- Reefer palletisation modifications
- Bulk carriers to bitumen carriers
- Container vessel to bitumen carriers
- Double hull tankers to double hull tanker which comply with IMO MARPOL Regulation 13 to extend vessel life/ phase out date
- Single hull tankers to double hull tankers
Many class-approved projects as mentioned here below have been completed by our team.
Examples of past successes:
- A.P.& A. Ltd. Group was the contractor for the conversion of 16 reefer-vessels (palletized), subcontracted at Gdansk Ship Repair Yard. A.P.& A. Ltd. was responsible for the whole project of the conversions including design and costing.
- M/t "Blue Eye Lady" Romanian tanker, upgrading at Gdansk Ship Repair Yard. A.P.& A. Group was the contractor responsible for costing and project management. The repair loan was signed between the Det Norske Bank of Norway (London Branch) and A.P.& A. Ltd. - UK.
- M/c "Ocean Majesty" major conversion in Greece. Mr. Andreas Papadakis was the Direct Consultant to the Ship-owners, vetting and monitoring owners consultant/supervision team.
- M/c "Ocean Monarch" project carried out in Greece/Bulgaria.
- Ro-Ro's Hyundai 106/108 etc. Vessel's Management company "Zodiac" contracted the project directly to A.P.& A. Ltd. - UK and undertaken at COSCO Dalian Shipyard.
- Full turnkey project for 2 x special survey and upgrade of tugs from "Sirte Oil" including project management, dry docking, specialists and parts supply.
Ship and Yacht Design
We provide highly experience team to provide design review, calculation and construction design of yachts motor cruisers and sailing yachts made of aluminium , GRP, steel and any combination of materials.
